♥Anti-wrinkle treatments ♥

In November 2022 I was delighted to became certified in administering anti-wrinkle injections.

I believe this is going to be a great ad-on to the services already offered to my clients at LW Clinic.

You may have some questions before considering this treatment, so I have prepared some information for you, including the pros and cons, how long it takes and more . . .

Everything you need to know . . .

Why do we get wrinkles?

The skin around our eyes is thinner, more fragile and less elastic which is why fine lines and wrinkles can be more prominent here than other areas of the face.

For this reason, it’s important to avoid using a standard facial moisturiser around the eye area as they tend to be too heavy and can cause puffiness. The best way to protect your eye area from aging is to invest in a good quality eye cream.

Regular facials can help to stimulate face muscles and, there are also a number of specialised treatments, such as LED light therapy, enzyme peels and Vitamin C moisture treatments and skin boosters which can all help to rejuvenate our skin.

However, even with the best skincare regime, as we age, more wrinkles will appear around the eyes and forehead making us look tired and older.

If you are concerned about more prominent wrinkles, anti-wrinkle injections offer great results for eyes and foreheads.

What are anti-wrinkle injections?

Anti-wrinkle injections can dramatically reduce visible signs of aging, fine lines and wrinkles resulting in a younger, refreshed and more vibrant appearance.

Anti-wrinkle injections work by blocking the nerves that contract the muscles, softening the appearance of the line or wrinkle. The skin above the muscles becomes nice and smooth after a period of between three to 14 days. It takes this time for the product to settle, attached itself to the nerve endings and get to work.

The pros:

♥  Dramatically reduces visible signs of aging (fine lines and wrinkles)

♥  Gives you a refreshed, younger appearance

♥  Enhances your natural beauty

♥ Rejuvenates your skin

♥ Speedy results

♥ No downtime

♥ Non-invasive procedure

Are anti-wrinkle injections safe?

Anti-wrinkle injections are perfectly safe when administered by a trained, certified beautician* in a clean and safe environment**. There are minimal side effects.

Why do I need a consultation?

Botulinum Toxin is a prescription only medication so it must be prescribed before it can be administered.

Prior to treatment, you will need to have a consultation with my prescriber, Sam where you will undergo a medical consultation. This allows Sam to verify that it is safe for you to have the treatment and that she is happy to prescribe the medication for you.

The cons:

  • Pain, swelling or bruising at the injection site
  • Headache or flu-like symptoms
  • Droopy eyelid or cockeyed eyebrows
  • Eye dryness or excessive tearing and smoothing your skin

How long will treatment take and when will I see the results?

♥ Anti-wrinkle treatment takes around 30 minutes

♥ Full results will take between 10-14 days

♥ The effects will last approximately three months, but this can vary from person to person.

What aftercare is required?

  • Avoid touching or applying physical pressure on the affected area
  • Expect some bruising and swelling, an ice pack can be applied for relief
  • Do not go to bed or lie down for the first 4 hours
  • Avoid alcohol 24 hours before and after the procedure
  • Avoid sun exposure (tanning bed, saunas and hot tubes) for 24 hours
  • Avoid sweaty workouts for the first 24 hours

What is the cost of anti-wrinkle injections?

The cost for one area is £100

Two areas £150, three areas £200

Top ups or where additional product is required costs £30

How often can I have anti-wrinkle injections?

Treatments should be spaced out at least 10-12 weeks apart, depending on the product used, the facial area treated, and your body’s ability to absorb the injected material.
